Arman Grigoryan was born and raised in Armenia. After school he started studying television directing at the Institute of Theater and Cinema in Yerevan. Because of the compulsory military service, he was supposed to interrupt his studies for two years. After his military service, he continued studying directing with a focus on documentary film and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts.Arman Grigoryan has been in Germany since 2015 and did an FSJ in the Medienwerkstatt Potsdam, where he shot short cartoons and documentaries. Since 2017 he studies directing at the Film University Babelsberg Konrad Wolf.During his studies Arman Grigoryan made short documentaries, feature and 360 degree films. His short documentary "Eau de Toilette" was named "Best Short Doc" at the Yale Student Film Festival.
